School News

February was a very busy and fun month for kindergarten. They celebrated Groundhog Day, 100th Day, and Valentine's Day. We also learned about weather and seasons. We are learning the words "is" and "here" and the letters l, k, q, and i. In math we are working on numbers 11-20, counting by 10's, and recognizing and counting dimes.

Second grade would like to encourage parents to keep helping their child read 20 minutes and doing their math homework. Also to help your child get their homework into their backpacks.
In my class we have had a fun unit on dental health. We have been learning the correct way to brush their teeth. We made a mouth with an apple slice and stuck on marshmallows. Then they had to show the correct way to brush those teeth. After that they got to eat their “mouth”.

4th graders will still need to work hard on multiplication facts. Idaho History projects are due in May. We need to be starting on our project soon!!!

If you have signed up for box tops online there was a problem with our account. Please login and go to "Progress" then "School earnings". If our school's goal is not $1,000 you need to make a change. Go to "my profile" and select "change school". Enter the zip code and select South Fork Elementary-Rigby. This will ensure that you are signed up under the correct school.
